Paul Peter Jung, Sr.
Born April 28, 1920, passed away peacefully at Lowell Health Care January 5, 2012. His last breath came as his family finished the rosary. Survived by his wife of 66yrs. Marjorie, his Little Margie (nee Keilman), children, Jerry (Cheryl A.), Michael (Cheryl L.), Paul, Jr. (Melissa), Debbie (Rollin) Sopher, Bruce (Anne), 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by granddaughters, devoted fellow CUBS fan, Nikolina Dimovski and Michelle Jung. Also, parents, Louise and Fred, 3 brothers, 5 sisters, and beloved parents-in-law, Peter and Louise Keilman. Paul was most proud of the size and character of his Keilman and Jung families. He spent his retirement years writing several unpublished books about his family history and experiences in WWII. His contributions about the history of Dyer were greatly appreciated by the Dyer Historical Society. He also was proud of his service as a Master Sergeant in the Army Air Corp. He flew the hump in India, Burma and China in WWII. During his 91yrs, a word of gossip or curse word never passed through his lips. Paul retired as the Munster Supt. of Streets in 1985. A devoted CUBS Fan since 1927, he can now watch the CUBS win the World Series with Nikki in the best skybox available. Visitation will be Sunday, January 8th from 2-8 at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 604 E. Commercial Ave, Lowell, with Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, 11AM at St. Edward Catholic Church, Lowell. Burial will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville with Fr.
