John E. Kepshire, age 57 of Valparaiso, passed away on Friday, Aug 3, 2012. He is survived by his wife Julia. One daughter Shannon (Richard) Schiller, Indianapolis. Two grandchildren Duncan and Cordelia. One brother Thomas (Carol) Kepshire, South Bend. Two sisters Carol (Tom) Vandercar, Lowell, and Donna (Elmer) Kepshire-Ricketts, Crown Point. Two nieces Rebecca (fiance' Nick Batdorf) Kepshire and Madison Ricketts. One nephew Joshua Ricketts and great niece Alani Champer. John is preceded in death by his parents Mary and Edward, and son Justin. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug 8, 2012, at 11:00am at the Sheets Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Lowell, 604 E. Commercial Ave., Lowell,with pastor Charles Hochmuth officiating. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lowell Memorial Cemetery. John was currently a member of the Union Fire Dept., Wheeler, IN and the Porter Co. Fire Investigation Strike Team. He retired from the South Haven Fire Dept., South Haven, IN and formerly worked with the Lake Eliza, Lake Station, and Hobart Fire Departments.
