Paratrooper Terry James Johnson
66, of Lowell, took his last jump, January 25, 2018. He is survived by his son Ian James Johnson of IL, sisters, Wendy Szmiel and Debbie Heaton, cousins, Malinda (Bret) Prather and Matt (Wendy) Johnson and 3 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parent Bill Johnson and Joan Anderson. Terry was a proud and decorated Vietnam Army Veteran, receiving 2 Bronze Stars, 2 Purple Hearts and a Silver Star. He was a member of Lowell's VFW Post #6841 and Colfax Masonic Lodge. He retired as an Officer with EJ & E Railroad, was 1970 graduate of Bloom Twp. High School, and he loved his guns. Cremation precedes Visitation, Saturday, April 7, from 2-4 at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, www.vva.org or to his son. www.sheetsfuneral.com

We will miss you brother, patriot, warrior, soldier of God. You would always say what was on your mind, no political correctness, just straight to the point. I'm glad we could chat about your family and how proud you are of Ian. Rehashing our past days in the military brought back some good memories of young men that never made it home. Always proud to be Airborne. AATW
