Hey mom.

6 years have gone by too quickly. I've gone quite full circle on a variety of things. I miss your advice, and posted to LinkedIn a tribute on you. I think you would have approved.

The world is quite different, you'd be in awe of the things as they stand. But I wish you were here...

My thoughts are with you...and I hope what I do will never disappoint.

It has been a year, mom. You would be none surprised that the Cubs are miserably in last place - but - they have potential! ;) Things are going ahead - August I'll take the GMAT - so, maybe, I'll get another door opened soon enough. I wish there was something more I could do to make your resting place more a reality, but it will take some more time. Maybe 2-3 years, I suppose. Stopped by your mom and

Hi mom,

I wished we could have celebrated your 60th yesterday. It was hard to know
that we didn't share many pleasant birthdays in the 2000s as finances always kept us from doing what really we wanted inside to do.

I am doing better than ever in school. Possibly getting 4 As and a B. That is better than I have done in 25 years in school as we both know my grades went down the last two years of high school.

I post

Mom, I was accepted by Purdue today to study economics in the Spring. Now, I just have to get from point A to point B without a car to register or a job to tide me over until I leave. I wish you were around to help would know what to do. Car is a dilemma again. Us and cars!

I write to say I always think of you - and love you dearly. I just need a break

Donna's stress relief

Here are a few other things you may not know about Donna, my mom:

1) She played the accordion rather well. When my mother played, I knew she was feeling a lot of stress.

2) When I was about 9, two boys were fighting on our front door step. The one was holding a good sized knife at the other's throat. As I scream for my mother, she rushed over an pulled the older kid off the boy who was being terrorized.

Donna and I at the mall.

Her Life: Climbing Those StairsTo Heaven
I started this last letter shortly after discontinuing my mother's treatment. The neurologist at Loyola University had informed me that minimal gains from intensive radiation were to be weighed against the more negative conditions my mother would endure in the days and months to come. He had suggested I up my mother's steroids for the short-term, hoping she would gain responsiveness, and climb back to a better baseline that had been lacking upon his consultation.

My sister Greta and i went to school with Donna and Linda. Donna was a very humble and loving person, never did we see her when she was not smiling. Donna always took time to ask how you were and how were your family doing. W e looked forward to visiting neat repeats weekly just to talk or get some treasures from her. Donna would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. There's no better love
